History At Coach Stop Farms

Update from Coach Stop Farms

We heard from the owner of Coach Stop Farms today.

Here's his email - good reading for all.

Hi Beware Bonnie -

Just wanted to let you know what it cost me to evict Bonnie and Neil from the farm.  Over $13,000 in lawyer fees.  Got my final bill yesterday, over $10,000.  Absolutely floored me.

A lot of this was extra, needless court appearances because Bonnie and Neil did not have a lawyer with them at the 1st court date then she bawled her way into Judge McDermott and was able to talk him onto granting a temporary stay of eviction.  So, what should have been 1 court date and over turned into 3 and they got an extra month living with out paying at the farm.

Please pass the word to everyone that unless they want to lose their shirt, spent countless nights tossing and turning, be vary, vary wary of these "people".

It's been over a year now and I'm still terribly in debt and in the hole.  I haven't been able to pay the farm taxes, I lost a whole year trying to sell the farm and I'm still cleaning up after them.

I was over this afternoon at the farm and an elderly couple pulled in looking for Bonnie & Neil.  Both in their 70's, they had sold hay to Bonnie and Neil last November and were paid with a bad check.  They contacted the State Troopers to press charges but Bonnie sent them a certified check for a fraction of the amount owed which, according to them, nullified the criminal charges of passing a bad check and moved it to small claims court.  The Troopers couldn't press charges after they received the partial payment.  Looks like Bonnie and Neil know all the loop holes that honest people wouldn't know about.

The couple filed a small claims lawsuit in the Town of Nelson, but Bonnie and Neil didn't show up.  Hopefully the couple will file suit again in the town of Java where the Erickson's now live.  I pointed them to your website and they were very interested in learning more!

Everywhere I go I hear about people who have been taken by Bonnie and Neil.  I wonder how many other honest people were taken?  On a whim I posted a sign on the front lawn of the farm.  "Looking for Bonnie and Neil Erickson?".   "
WWW.BEWAREBONNIE.COM".   I hope you don't mind!

Y'know what really hurts?  I helped these creeps out all summer, trying to make them successful.  I helped hay, I left them tools that weren't part of the deal, I left them a good Stihl chainsaw so they could cut fire wood for the winter which they never did - not 1 piece.  I came over one day with my hair clippers and gave the 2 boys a hair cut!  From July until November I stopped by almost every day looking for my past due rent.  I was trying to convert a barn into a house, paying the farm's mortgage and insurance without reimbursement, living in an old RV, barely getting by.  Getting a new story why they didn't have the money every time.  Finally they paid back rent in November.  And then when they failed to pay January's rent and I had to take them to court they tried everything they could to extend the eviction keep living living for free, at my expense.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised - I have heard many., many stories from people in tougher circumstances than me who have been taken.

Well, hopefully the farm will sell soon and I'll be able to pay my lawyers, the mortgage off and the taxes.  Thanks again for having you website!

John

Bonnie and F Neil moved into Coach Stop Farms about the last week of May, 2008.  They wanted to lease the farm with an option to buy.  They agreed to pay rent until an agreement was prepared for the lease w/ option.  After 4 bounced checks and 1 check that was never good that they put a stop payment on, the owner finally received rent due from June thru December on November 14th, 2008.  They refused to make good on the check for the agreed on down payment.

On January 19th, 2009, Bonnie was handed an eviction notice from the owner for failure to pay January's rent, failure to pay the down payment as required in the agreement and failure to show proof of liability insurance as required in the agreement.

3 trips to court and they were successfully evicted on April 6th, 2009.

Bonnie and F Neil did business under the name "Coach Stop Farms" even though the owner never transferred the DBA or any other business assets.
